ewoud van eetvelde is an electroacoustic composer, performer and installation artist based in Brussels.

Working with sound architectures and audiovisual storytelling, he draws on dreams and the subconscious, using voice, the body, traditional Western instruments, field recordings and digital technologies to trace and expand the aliveness at the cutting edge between inner worlds and shared realities.

After studying music in Scandinavia, he taught guitar, music theory and solfège at a Belgian art academy before focusing on his atelier in Anderlecht. There, he builds sound and light sculptures, develops software and embedded instruments for his performances, and creates systems and sound works on commission.

ewoud is the leader of the electroacoustic jazz trio Zap Zaltan and he performs narrated solo concerts with his speaker object 'the flower' under the moniker o weather systems. He graduated as a Nordic jazz Master on guitar in Helsinki, Stockholm and Aarhus, Master in Music Education and is founder of Studio Zaltan as a platform for his diverse artistic research. He was a resident in PAS (Petersburg Art Institute) Berlin, NOTAM (Norwegian Centre for Technology, Art and Music) Oslo and Werkplaats Walter Brussels.
Together with MUS-E, Ewoud collaborates with schools and children in the Belgian capital to make and present audiovisual work.

Currently he is under the mentorship of Annette Vande Gorne for acousmatic music composition. His compositions were selected by the electroacoustic Boem festival 2025 in Ghent and for Paysages Composés 2025 in Grenoble.
